Local and One Way Rentals
Local rentals can be residential or commercial customers. A local rental is when you pick up and drop off at the same location. Local rentals are based on a daily rate plus mileage. Commercial customers it’s a higher daily rate, however it is a smaller mileage rate. Commercial customers are assumed to travel farther than residential customers. To rent a local rental vehicle you will need a valid driver’s license and credit or debit card. You have the option to pay with cash when returning the vehicle but the deposit must be left of a card.
One way rentals is when you pick up from a location and drop it off in another location whether it be out of town or out of state. One way rentals are based on a flat rate with mileage included. Penske bases the rate depending on the distance you will be traveling. Penske provides you enough time for you to pack, unpack, and traveling time. If you need extra time with the rental you may purchase extra days, but it is not cheaper if you return the truck earlier than the days you are given. One way rentals you have the option to pay with a card or in cash. If paid in cash you must leave a deposit of $150.00 plus the cost of your rental. You will be refunded your deposit when you return your vehicle.
Penske has many sizes of vehicles available for rental, from a cargo van to a twenty six foot box truck. The medium to large size box trucks come equipped with a six foot pull out ramp. You have the option of a lift gate but must be reserved at least two weeks prior.
It is best to make a reservation as far in advance as possible. This will assure that your rental unit and supplies are available and ready for your scheduled pick up date and time. When making a reservation you will need to leave a debit or credit card number in order for the reservation to be confirmed. Be sure to include any furniture pads or hand trucks in your reservation.
There are many insurance options available. The most popular option for local and one way rental is the limited damage waiver. This insurance option protects the rental unit if any damage occurs while you have the rental unit, including truck and box damage.
